PENGARUH INTENSITAS PENGGUNAAN MEDIA SOSIAL TERHADAP KECENDRUNGAN MELAKUKAN PERBANDINGAN SOSIAL PADA REMAJA

Abstract

Meningkatnya penggunaan media sosial saat ini membuat individu rentan terhadap kecenderungan membandingkan diri dengan orang lain. penggunaan media sosial juga didominasi oleh remaja, yaitu sebesar 79.5% penggunaan media sosial di Indonesia adalah remaja. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh intensitas penggunaan media sosial terhadap kecenderungan remaja melakukan perbandingan sosial. Populasi remaja berusia 17-22 tahun berdomisili dipadang, dengan responden sebanyak 220 orang, dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Analisis data menggunakan analisis regresi linear sederhana. Hasil dari penelitian diketahu bahwa Ha diterima, artinya terdapat pengaruh pada intensitas penggunaan media sosial terhadap kecenderungan perbandingan sosial pada remaja. Tingginya skor total intensotas penggunaan media sosial, maka skor total perbandingan sosial juga akan meningkat.
