Abstract
Placemaking is an approach to urban planning and design that focuses on developing public spaces to make them more attractive, functional, and sustainable for the community. The goal is to create a better environment and encourage social interaction. A corridor is a space, hallway or road that connects one point to another in a building. Some buildings make this corridor open, so there are no roofs or walls around it. Although it looks simple, the corridor is a part of the building that gets attention in the construction process and the application of its design. The aesthetics of the corridor are adjusted to a certain concept according to the function of the building. In addition to the aesthetics of the corridor, its benefits are highlighted. The beautification of the aesthetics and functionality of the corridor cannot be separated from its use as a part of the building that is often visited by visitors. Therefore, making this corridor organized, neat and functional is a very natural thing to do. For example, the corridor at Tugu Station, Yogyakarta. Malioboro Corridor is a relatively new place in Yogyakarta. This location was opened on March 1, 2021 as a program of PT. Kereta Api Indonesia. The goal is none other than to develop the Train Station Area in Tugu Yogyakarta. It is expected that visitors who visit, especially prospective passengers and passengers who have just arrived in Yogyakarta City, will be safer and more comfortable with this corridor as a resting place. To prove that this corridor can provide comfort to visitors, a qualitative research method was carried out by conducting direct observation in the study area, actively collecting data and conducting a literature survey to obtain relevant information. In addition to conducting direct observation, research was also carried out with a study of various literature and the Human Centered Urban Design method.
